AVESS Energy – Australia’s next energy storage solution – is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ken Brinsden as a Non-Executive Director effective 15 April 2024.
Mr Brinsden brings with him more than three decades of C-suite and senior management experience across the mining sector, including prior roles with Pilbara Minerals, Atlas Iron, Iluka Resources, and Goldfields.
Mr Brinsden is one of Australia’s most highly credentialed and experienced mining executives with a broad cross-section of roles across mine management, production, brownfields and greenfields development, and executive and Board memberships.
Mr Brinsden is the CEO of Canada-based exploration and development company, Patriot Battery Metals.
On 8 April 2024, AVESS Energy announced that it had successfully raised $1m in a Series A Round 2 capital raise – underpinned by Mr Brinsden’s cornerstone investment – to progress the deployment of the Company’s 50kW/250KWh VRFB, and to boost local manufacturing and production capabilities.
Commenting on the strengthening of the AVESS Energy board, AVESS Energy Managing Director Young Yu said:
“Ken’s appointment strengthens AVESS Energy’s board at a critical point in time where we are pursuing the deployment of our VRFB and seeking to boost our manufacturing and production capabilities domestically and globally.
“Ken’s unique C-suite mining experience – particularly with Pilbara Minerals and Atlas Iron – strengthens our mining narrative and provides the business with another dimension as we position ourselves for growth.
“As one of Australia’s most well-credentialed mining executives, the Company is delighted to welcome Ken as a Non-Executive Director and we are looking forward to benefiting from his counsel,” said Mr. Yu.
Commenting on his appointment as a Non-Executive Director, Ken Brinsden said:
“I’m pleased to join AVESS Energy as a Non-Executive Director. I’m committed to supporting the Company and contributing to the business as it pursues VRFB deployment and builds its manufacturing and production capabilities.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with the directors of AVESS Energy – including Young Yu, Dean Nalder, Ky Cao, and John O’Connor – as we look to strengthen the positioning of energy storage as a critical technology in the economic decarbonisation story.
“I’m delighted to be part of a Company that shapes as a key energy storage solution provider for energy, mining, and utilities, facilitating the further potential that renewable energy represents to decarbonise the global economy,” said Mr Brinsden.
AVESS seeks to become Australia’s next energy storage solution, providing a downstream solution to energy, mining, and utilities.
