COMPANY OVERVIEW

AVESS Energy seeks to become Australia’s next energy storage solution, providing a local downstream solution to energy, mining and utilities.

AVESS Energy is an energy storage solutions company powered by Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFBs).

AVESS Energy is the owner of South Korean VRFB developer KORID Energy’s stack technology.

We seek to develop, commercialise and manufacture VRFBs to meet the storage needs of energy, mining and utilities.

OUR EXPERTISE

Our VRFBs

AVESS Energy progresses towards local VRFB manufacturing with the successful 2024 commissioning of their first Australian-built 50kW/250kWh containerised VRFB module – 5-hour discharge with grid capabilities – which will be optimised for deployment in a remote standalone power system.

A second 25kW/250kWh containerised VRFB module – 10-hour discharge, also with grid capabilities – will be manufactured by KORID Energy in South Korea and shipped to Perth on demand.

OUR MISSION

World-class, differentiated technology

Our patented 25kW South Korean high-efficiency stack (>80%) is the largest in Australia and allows for high flexibility when scaling up to MW-sized systems.

Commercial-ready

Our stack technology has achieved TRL 7 (NASA Technology Readiness Level).

Safe & Efficient

With non-combustible battery chemistry and long-lasting, AVESS Energy’s VRFBs provide a safe and efficient large-scale energy storage solution.

Sustainable

When powered by renewable energy, our VRFBs offer a zero-carbon energy storage solution that reduces CO2 emissions and supports Net Zero 2050

CONNECTING

Partners

Strong relationships have been developed with Korean government bodies and power companies.

Building local relationships at home is equally important:

  • Continuum Engineering, a Perth firm possessing mechanical and electrical talents, has been instrumental in the design and commissioning of our Perth-built VRFB.
  • Avora Energy was contracted to assemble the VRFB from the initial design and has since developed a full understanding of the technology.
